This tour will target the Reef Townsite campground in beautiful Carr Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains, a site that provides an opportunity for some really cool birds. Tufted and Buff-breasted Flycatchers, Olive, Grace’s and Red-faced Warblers are just a few of the possibilities on this trip. The road up Carr Canyon is steep and rocky, but is in pretty good shape. Once at our destination, the walking is on mostly open ground that is fairly easy walking (in other words, not at all like last month’s hike up Miller Canyon). Bring water, snacks, lunch, and your usual birding gear. We will meet in the dirt parking lot at the top of the Exit 281 (Sonoita/Patagonia exit) ramp off I-10 and carpool to the Miller Canyon trailhead. Cost is $10/person. Call 520-488-8551 or email email@example.com to register.
