The main target on this trip will be Mississippi Kite, an uncommon bird in southern Arizona. Fortunately the tall cottonwoods, and adjacent to, the monastery property is the most reliable spot to find these wonderful raptors. We will also be on the lookout for Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Tropical Kingbird, Yellow-breasted Chat, Summer Tanager, and many others. Bring plenty of water and snacks. We will meet in the dirt parking lot at the top of the eastbound I-10 exit ramp for Highway 83 (exit number 281). The meeting spot is just south of I-10. From there, we will carpool to the monastery. Cost is $10/person. Call 530-488-8551 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
